Partnerships confirmed for Platinum competition delivery
Five different venues will play host to Scottish Squash’s Platinum competitions during season 2019/20 as Scottish Squash confirm their partnerships for the delivery of these important competitions.
The Scottish Masters National Championships and Scotland Masters Home Internationals will remain at Inverness Tennis & Squash Club and Edinburgh Sports Club respectively as they were awarded on two-year contracts during the application process last season. The Scottish Senior Inter-Regional Team Championships, that is due to be launched in August 2019, will take place at Aberdeen Squash & Racketball Club in 2019 and 2020 as also awarded during last season’s application process.
As we move into season 2019/20 we are pleased to confirm that Scottish Squash will partner with Scottish Squash Rackets Club in Glasgow, Edinburgh Sports Club, Aberdeen Squash & Racketball Club and Oriam at Heriot-Watt University to successfully deliver the Platinum competitions that were available for applications. Full details can be seen below:
*Scottish National Championships (13th – 15th March 2020) Edinburgh Sports Club
Scottish Junior National Championships (31st – 2nd February 2020) Aberdeen Squash & Racketball Club
Scottish Under 23 National Championships (17th – 19th January 2020) Scottish Squash Rackets Club, Glasgow
Scottish Junior Inter Regional Team Championships (17th – 19th April 2020) Oriam, Heriot-Watt University
Scottish Squash57/Racketball National Championships (25th – 26th April 2020) Scottish Squash Rackets Club, Glasgow
*Please note the change to this date. The Canary Wharf Squash Classic (PSA) event is scheduled to start on Sunday 8th March 2020 so to avoid a clash with the early rounds the Scottish National Championships will now take place from Friday 14th – Sunday 16th March 2020.
As we enter the new strategy for squash in Scotland and to allow Scottish Squash to review the process of awarding Platinum competitions all competitions have been awarded on a 1 year contract.
The process for clubs to apply to organise and deliver Gold sanctioned competitions in season 2019/20 will be sent to clubs shortly. There will then be an opportunity for clubs wishing to apply for Silver and Bronze level sanctioning to guarantee dates early. Applications for Silver and Bronze sanctioning will still remain in place throughout the season on the same basis as last season. We ask for a minimum of four weeks for Bronze level sanctioning and eight weeks for Silver sanctioning.
