Scots to star on BBC as European Team Championships schedule confirmed
Scotland’s squash fans will have the chance to follow their heroes live on the BBC as the schedule for the ESF European Team Squash Championships 2024 has been confirmed.
Scotland’s women will compete in Division 1, and will look for a strong performance on their return to the top division following promotion last year.
Meanwhile, the men’s team will look to bounce back from last year’s disappointing relegation at the first time of asking, with top spot in Division 2 in their sights.
First up for the women will be a tough match against Belgium, with top 10 sisters Nele and Tinne Gilis sure to provide the sternest of tests for the Scots.
Later on Wednesday, Scotland will face hosts Switzerland in a match which could be crucial in deciding the eventual outcome of the group.
The women’s final pool match will take place on Thursday morning, in a battle of two home nations, as the Scots take on Wales, live on the BBC iPlayer and BBC Sport website and app.
Should Scotland finish in the top two in their pool, their semi-final match on Friday will also be broadcast live on the BBC.
The men’s side get their promotion chase underway with a match against Poland on Wednesday evening.
Their second and final pool match will come against Portugal on Thursday morning, which will be broadcast live on the BBC iPlayer and BBC Sport website and app.
A top two finish in the group would see the men progress to the playoff for top spot, with a quarter-final match on Thursday evening followed by matches on Friday and Saturday to determine their final position.
