Scottish Squash launched of a Competition Organisers Network ahead of season 2024/25, an exciting new initiative for the governing body as part of continued work to improve the competitions offering within Scotland.

What is it?

Similar to the Club Support Forum, the network is an opportunity for local and regional organisers to come together and share thoughts and feedback (with each other and Scottish Squash), related to all sanctioned competitions. It is an opportunity for Scottish Squash to connect with organisers more directly and receive feedback on key issues, provide general updates, and provide an opportunity for any questions or discussion of important topics.

How will it work?

Beginning for the 2024/25 season, the Competition Organisers Network will hold three online calls:

• One around the beginning of the season (August / September)
  • Themes: looking ahead, changes in the new season, calendar planning.
• One during the season (December / January)
  • Themes: successes and challenges of current season, updates mid-season
• One around the end of the season (May/June)
  • Themes: reflections, ideas for changes, early calendar development

Long-term, we envision the Network providing a framework to bring together organisers periodically and support new organisers within our sport.

Who is it for?

The Competition Organisers Network is for anyone either currently or prospectively involved in arranging competitions, encompassing a range of roles from full-time staff, coaches, volunteers, committee members and beyond; there is no eligibility criteria to be involved and we welcome input from different positions. There are also no attendance obligations.

How do I get involved?

The next online call is scheduled for Monday 16th December from 17:30 – 18:30. Expressions of interest in joining the call can be submitted using this online form. Online links will be circulated in advance along with further details.
