Central Junior Open 2014

Rory Stewart

Rory Stewart (Creiff) was victorious in the first domestic event of the 2014-15 season when he defeated Craig Valente-Wallace (Heriot-Watt) 3/0 in the final at the Bridge of Allan Sports Club on Sunday, 24 August 2014.

Claire Gadsby (Creiff) also commenced the season solidly by reaching the semi-finals after upset wins over No.5 seed, Mark Coyle (Giffnock), and No.4 seed, Patrick O’Sullivan (Giffnock).

Alisdair Prott (Inverness) took out the Division 2 title from Pietro Gagliardini (Edinburgh), Chris Murphy (Giffnock) won Division 3 from Ross Mowat (Thurso), James Taylor (Watsonians) won Division 4 from Fraser Steven (Thurso) and Craig Thomson (Giffnock) was victorious in Division 5 from David Taylor (Watsonians). A fantastic match in the final of the Division 6 event saw Katy Gregson-Macleod (Inverness) overcome Maddie Orr (Creiff) 11/9 in the fifth, while Finlay Martin (Creiff) beat Sandy Niven (Scotstoun) in Division 7 and Alisdair Findlay (Bridge of Allan) beat Beth Moglia (Strathgryffe) in the Division 8 final.
