July 2018 Scottish Squash News Round-Up

It’s summer and despite most players being in the midst of pre-season training, there’s a lot going on in the world of Scottish Squash.

Last week we announced the comeback of the Scottish Open, set for April 2019, after an agreement was reached with Springfield Properties to be headline sponsor of the event.

The first edition of the Springfield Scottish Squash Open will be held at Oriam, Scotland’s sports performance centre, Edinburgh.

Scotland have a 10-strong squad currently taking part in the World Masters Squash Championships in Charlottesville, Virginia whilst our Junior squad has just finished competing at the World Juniors in Chennai, India.

Meanwhile, Scottish Squash were at Pride Glasgow earlier this month promoting Diversity in Sport and we caught up with world number 30 Greg Lobban ahead of the new season.

We also heard from Kevin Moran who took part in a gruelling whistle-stop tour of Scotland and there’s going to be some world class squash on show next month during the Edinburgh Festival of Squash, 2018.
