Scottish Squash Announce Competitions Calendar for 2024-25 Season
Scottish Squash are pleased to announce the competitions calendar for season 2024-25 which includes dates for key sanctioned competitions and Scottish National Championships.
The 2023/24 season has seen continued growth of competitions and a record number of tournaments held, building on the success of the 2022/23 season. Over 50 sanctioned competitions are either complete or scheduled, with more to come in the summer before the season ends in July, including the flagship Scottish Senior National Championships which are set to take place at Newlands LTC from 17 – 19 May (entries open until May 2nd).
Below can be found the key dates for Scottish Squash sanctioned competitions in 2024-25, including two Junior and three Senior Gold competitions. You can also click here to download the full calendar PDF, which includes preferred windows for Silver sanctioned competitions, as well as relevant British, European and WSF dates etc.
Dates To Be Confirmed
The announcement of the 2024-25 calendar comes after consultation with regional committees and work within the Scottish Squash team to identify suitable dates while factoring in various British, BUCS, European, PSA and WSF competitions. As such, the dates for Senior Gold (2) are still to be confirmed, as this event will depend on the confirmation of dates for BUCS competitions in October/November.
The dates for the Scottish Senior National Championships 2025 will also be confirmed in the coming months.
Hosting Platinum and Gold Sanctioned Competitions
The window to host Platinum Competitions in season 2024-25 is now open and will close on Sunday 26th May 2024 > Apply Now
The application window to apply for Gold sanctioned competitions will follow in June; further announcements will follow.
Silver and Bronze Sanctioned Competitions
The announcement of the new season also comes with new prospects and opportunities for local competition organisers. From season 2024-25, suggested windows for hosting Silver Graded sanctioned competitions are identified by Scottish Squash. These competitions will play a key role in diversifying competitive opportunities, particularly for juniors, intermediate and developing players, while also lengthening the season for many players. To learn more about the suggested windows for Silver Graded competitions, see Host Silver (Graded).
Bronze sanctioned competitions have been popular with organisers and players over the last two seasons, and from season 2024-25, it will be quicker and easier to host and set up a Bronze competition. There is no longer a need to submit an application form via Scottish Squash – organisers can simply set up their event and request sanctioning via SportyHQ. For those wishing to learn more, see Host Bronze for our step-by-step guide on getting your competition up and running.
