Scottish Squash Launch New Competition Organisers Network
Scottish Squash are delighted to announce the launch of a Competition Organisers Network ahead of season 2024/25, an exciting new initiative for the governing body as part of continued work to improve the competitions offering within Scotland.
The first meeting is scheduled online for Monday 9th September 17:30 – 18:30. Register your interest here and our team will be in touch.
What is it?
Similar to the Club Support Forum, this network will be an opportunity for local and regional organisers to come together and share thoughts and feedback (with each other and Scottish Squash), related to all sanctioned competitions. It will also be an opportunity to connect organisers more directly, receive input on key topics and future developments, provide general updates, and offer an opportunity for participants to ask any questions.
How will it work?
Beginning for the 2024/25 season, the Competition Organisers Network will hold three online calls:
- One around the beginning of the season (August / September)
- Themes: looking ahead, changes in the new season, calendar planning.
- One during the season (December / January)
- Themes: successes and challenges of current season, updates mid-season
- One around the end of the season (May/June)
- Themes: reflections, ideas for changes, early calendar development
Long-term, we envision the Network providing a framework to bring together organisers periodically and support new organisers within our sport.
Who is it for?
The Competition Organisers Network is for anyone either currently or prospectively involved in arranging competitions, encompassing a range of roles from full-time staff, coaches, volunteers, committee members and beyond; there is no eligibility criteria to be involved and we welcome input from different positions. There are also no attendance obligations.
How do I get involved?
The first online call is scheduled for Monday 9th September from 17:30 – 18:30. Expressions of interest in joining the call can be submitted using this online form. Online links will be circulated in advance along with further details.
