Scottish Squash Launch Scottish Masters Working Group

As part of continued work to strengthen the Masters squash community in Scotland and support communications with the national governing body (NGB), Scottish Squash are pleased to announce the development of a Scottish Masters Working Group, and are seeking candidates to volunteer as members, with the ambition being a wide demographic involved to reflect the diverse and vibrant player community

The Scottish Masters Working Group will foremost provide a consistent link between the playing community and the governing body, bringing a collaborative approach to operations while strengthening and growing the Masters network with Scottish Squash. Furthermore, the group will perform the following functions to support the player network:

  • Provide an outlet for player engagement and suggestions
  • Discuss proposed changes within Masters squash in Scotland, eg. competitions structure / ranking points
  • Liaise / convene after closing dates and support tournament organisers to complete player seedings for Masters Regional competitions
  • Positively support regional tournament organisers in the delivery of the Masters Regional Circuit
  • Oversee updates to the Masters ranking points at relevant points throughout the season
  • Provide feedback / submit proposals to the NGB on behalf of the player community
  • Support the NGB in the development of the competitions calendar
  • Submit any discussion topics to the Scottish Squash Performance Pathway Advisory Group (which reports to the Board of Directors)

The Scottish Masters Working Group is open to registrations of interest from all Masters players, however prominent engagement and entry on the Master Regional Circuit is preferred, with Home Internationals experience also desirable.

Scottish Squash will also be seeking to appoint a Chair of the group to act as the lead convenor, and to shape the direction of conversations and flow of agendas at in-person meetings. The Chair will be the main point of contact for the group with the national governing body and will work closely with NGB staff in developing relations, taking appropriate actions and supporting the player community.

Should you wish to be involved in this group (including for the role of Chair), you can fill out this form by 1st November 2024.

Please note if there are multiple interested candidates from one age group, limited tenures may be agreed with individuals in efforts to support a balanced demographic and provide fair opportunity for engagement.
