Season 2022/23: All Platinum Venues Confirmed

All venues are now confirmed for Platinum competitions during season 2022/23, as Scottish Squash are pleased to announce partnerships for the delivery of these important competitions. The full Platinum calendar is an exciting return to tradition after disruptions in recent years, and we would like to thank all clubs for their applications, interest and enthusiasm.

The first Platinum competition of the season, The Scottish Junior Inter-Regional Championships, will take place at Oriam (Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh) next week. With players from across the country competing in five different age groups, it will be an action-packed and energising start to the new season.

The juniors are set for an exciting finish to 2022 as well, with the JC Lindsay Scottish Junior Open returning to our calendar this season between Christmas and new year. This European Junior Grand Prix event attracts international entrants and some of the very best junior squash talent. Entries are now open, and we look forward to welcoming new and old faces back to Edinburgh for this major tournament.

In the new year, we enter the main period for Platinum competitions, and the return of the Under 23 National Championships to Scottish Squash Rackets Club in Glasgow. This will be the third time the competition will be run as a stand-alone event since season 2018/19, and is a great opportunity for the rising stars of squash in Scotland.

In February, Scottish Squash is happy to now confirm that the Junior National Championships* will be held at Edinburgh Sports Club. We also have the exciting prospect of the Senior National Championships, which will take place at the refurbished Newlands LTC in Glasgow. With a genuine buzz for squash at these lively venues, we are sure to enjoy competitive and exciting championships over these weekends.

In March, the focus turns to Aberdeen, with the Masters National Championships set to take place at Aberdeen Squash & Racketball Club – a third city on our calendar and another headline event to look forward to in the spring.

The final Platinum event on our calendar, the Scottish Masters Home Internationals*, concludes our season in May. Scottish Squash can now confirm the venue for this event will be Edinburgh Sports Club, and we very much look forward to welcoming teams to the capital next year.

We would like to thank all staff, players and venues for their patience in awaiting confirmation of these calendar details. We are proud to enter these partnerships and we look forward to an exciting season of squash in 2022/23.
