Squads confirmed for 5 nations in Cardiff
The Scotland squads for the 5 Nations taking place in Cardiff next month have been confirmed.
The event sees the young Scots go head to head with players from England, France, Ireland and Wales in a round-robin format.
At last year’s event, held in Edinburgh, the home stars secured a creditable third in both the under 13 and under 15 categories.
This year sees some returning faces, along with several new players pulling on the blue of Scotland for the first time.
In the under 15 squad, Cailean McAlpine, Zack Paton and Felicia Chan will return hoping to build on strong performances last year.
They will be joined by Jamie Pearman and Phoebe Hamilton, who makes the step up from last year’s under 13 squad.
It’s all change in the under 13s, with Callum Smith the only returning face from last year’s event.
Making their debuts are Andrew Ross, Ellis Isaacs, Eunice Li and sisters Emily and Sophie Ballentyne.
Commenting on the selection, Scottish Squash Pathway Manager and Coach Kylie Lindsay said: “The 5 Nations is always an exciting event for the players as for the majority it’s their first taste of representing Scotland!
“It’s a big achievement being selected to represent your country and I know all these players will really enjoy the experience and represent Scotland with lots of pride and passion.”
The 5 Nations 2024 will take place in Cardiff, and will run from Friday 5th April to Sunday 7th April.
