Squash in Scotland membership update
Following four years without an increase in affiliation fees, Squash in Scotland membership fees will increase for membership year 2024-25.
Individual “Player” membership will now cost £17 for a full year’s subscription.
This will be the first increase for Squash in Scotland members since the Covid pandemic, and will help to cover operating costs to ensure the ability to retain existing services.
Scottish Squash aim to build on the successes of recent years working with partners across Scotland to encourage participation in squash in Scotland, to diversify the player base and to provide support to clubs and competition organisers to increase opportunities for all.
Scotland’s squash players have also been supported to significant success, which includes Commonwealth Games bronze medals, Scottish success at European and World level events and the continued growth of the Springfield Scottish Squash Open.
The continued support of individuals, clubs and regions directly contributes to work in areas such as performance, participation and coach development.
Individual Player members get access to all multi-club leagues and competitions, as well as personal accident insurance cover and a discount on SQUASH TV.
Work is also ongoing to secure a partnership with a racket sports retailer to add further value to the Player membership.
Club members receive a range of benefits, including access to SportyHQ, support with development programmes and insurance cover.
Scottish Squash Chief Operating Officer Garry McKay said: “Squash in Scotland is continuing to recover well from the impact of the pandemic, thanks to incredible dedication and commitment from all stakeholders in the sport.
“There have been significant financial challenges across society in recent years, and Scottish Squash as an organisation is not immune to these challenges.
“An increase to affiliation fees will support the continued growth of squash in Scotland, and ensure the health and good governance of the sport in the year ahead.
“We are excited about the opportunity to continue to work with clubs, coaches and players to help the game grow, and hit new heights in an exciting period for the sport.”
