success as new bronze sanctioned competitions begin

Scotstoun Squash Club and Bridge of Allan Sports Club were the first club to host the new Bronze sanctioned event of the season last weekend. Bronze sanctioned events links with Scottish Squash & Racketball’s new competitions structure that was launched at the start of season. The new structure aims to empower regions/clubs to deliver successful events in partnership with the governing body. The structure also aims to support players at all levels to understand which competitions they should aim to enter.

Bronze sanctioned events aims to support junior players who are looking to make their first step on to the competition ladder. These events are focused around fun with matches being played in a more relaxed, friendly atmosphere.

Martin Woods, who was the Tournament Organiser of the Scotstoun Bronze Event said “Scotstoun had a fantastic event on Sunday 10th September, with 30 entries and some fantastic competition. The atmosphere was electric with parents and family there to watch and support. SportyHQ is a superb system that really made the registration and draws much easier for a tournament organiser. Thank you to Scottish Squash for your part in making the event the success it was!”

The Bronze event at Bridge of Allan Sports Club was also a great success with 11 players competing. Thanks to Allison Penman for organising the competition.

There are Bronze sanctioned events running throughout the season and any junior players interested in playing their first competition are encouraged to start here.
