Volunteers Required – WSF World Doubles Championships

The 2022 WSF World Doubles Championships takes place at Scotstoun Leisure Centre between Tuesday, April 5th and Saturday, April 9th. The event has attracted 15 nations from across the world and will feature athletes within the top 10 professional world rankings.

With any major sporting event, volunteers are critical to the success and ensuring we provide a welcoming atmosphere which Glasgow is renowned for. We are now looking to recruit a team of volunteers who will support us at various points throughout the Championships. Volunteers are welcome to offer as much or as little time as they wish to support the delivery of the championships.

Volunteer roles available are:

Ticketing Assistants

Managing ticketing throughout the Championships and welcoming guests to the event. You will be the first point of contact for guests during the Championships so we’re looking for individuals with a welcoming and outgoing personality.

Court Side/Spectator Assistants

We want to ensure that all spectators to the WSF World Doubles Championships have a fantastic experience. Court Side/Spectator Assistants will provide general support to deliver the Championships. This may be supporting athletes as they prepare for matches and even supporting with general questions from visitors as they move around the venue.

General Assistants

With any major sporting event flexibility is critical to ensure we support the needs of all athletes and visitors. Our General Assistants will be on hand throughout the Championships to support in various capacities. This may be from supporting within the spectator area, ensuring athletes are happy with their stay in Glasgow or even getting closely involved in the delivery of the professional competition.

Team Driver*

From the moment teams, athletes and delegates arrive in Glasgow we want to ensure they have a positive experience. Our Team Drivers will support us to move teams, athletes and delegates around Glasgow as required.

*Team Drivers must hold a full-clean driving licence and be a minimum of 21 years old. Further information will be provided into this role over a telephone conversation

In return, volunteers would be offered with an ‘access all area pass’ for the duration of the Championships, which they are entitled to use whether volunteering or not, and meal vouchers will be provided. Additionally, we’re hoping to provide volunteers with event clothing.
